Inspiration is Like the Wind

The other day I was wondering how we were going to enjoy the spring/summer. I mean, the grass finally greened. The temps hit above freezing. Yet, daily the strong winds blew us back into our home or minivan. Not feeling optimistic, I remember these winds from other years. It’s a drawback of North Dakota.

Then the thought occurred to me, “Embrace it.” Embrace the wind? Ah, yes, embrace the wind.

So we were inspired to act on the words of Mary Poppins. We were inspired to re-live childhood memories I have of flying a kite on the beaches of Maine with my own Dad.

Then surprise! Prior to deciding to put together the kite, I had jokingly texted Mark that the wind was so bad that this had happened:

True story. Must have been missing a bolt. Funny, never had happened before on our nature walks.

Mark decided to take a short break from his work nearby and join us!

An idyllic, inspired day completely unplanned–it just flew in on that strong wind and carried our previous plans away with it.
